Assessment is an essential pre-curser to any form of personal development. Only through assessment is it possible to identify, accurately, development needs and to measure development progress.
The assessment may be carried out by the individual, a peer or supervisor - each variant has its pros and cons. The most accurate assessment is generally based on multiple assessments in which a number of tests, ratings and questionnaires are supported by a Behavioural Interview. These are often called "360° assessments".
