The Lloyd's Market Association (LMA), located in the heart of the Lloyd's Building in the City of London, provides technical support to the entire Lloyd's underwriting community.
All underwriting businesses at Lloyd's are LMA Members. The LMA is a trade association, separate from the Corporation of Lloyd's, independently funded by all managing agents and other Associate Members. The LMA is the market leader, at Lloyd's, on matters relating to collective learning and development via its Professional Standards Committee (PSC).
The PSC has the primary role of strengthening the work of LMA Members in continuing to raise the bar of professional standards, with particular emphasis on training and education. It considers professional development issues and helps define standards and benchmarks to reinforce the profile of the Lloyd's Market as a professional and valued environment in which to work and transact insurance and reinsurance business.

The LMA has developed the LMA Lloyd's Market Academy (LMALMA), which focuses on the delivery of high quality educational programmes and allied qualifications. The LMALMA is at the heart of a learning community for those who wish to pursue a professional career in the Lloyd's Market.
