Purpose and Value
The Professional Career at Lloyd's website has been designed by the Lloyd's Market Association (LMA) for potential recruits, for new entrants to the Lloyd's Market and for those already employed by managing agents as underwriting or claims
staff. Its purpose is to help to define their careers and to hone their skills.
The drop-down menus at the top of this screen identify the roles and competencies for the core careers across the Lloyd's Market.
Those for Underwriters are most comprehensive and detailed for each stage of their career development. The competencies shown for Claims staff are more generic, based upon Nominal Group research undertaken by the LMA.
The key corporate competence at Lloyd's is sustained underwriting profitability, allied to optimal claims handling, over the insurance cycle, which meets the needs of capital providers.
